Mirza Fakhrul Dismisses Indian Media Reports on Minority Attacks in Bangladesh


Regarding the news in the Indian media about attacks on minorities in Bangladesh, Mirza Fakhrul said, "Some Indian media have reported that minorities in Bangladesh are being attacked. When asked for a response, Mirza Fakhrul said, 'These are all propaganda. This false, fabricated, baseless propaganda is being spread to undermine the popular uprising in Bangladesh, to fail this newly formed interim government. I believe that the people of Bangladesh and world opinion will not believe this.'"

Earlier in the morning, thousands of leaders and activists gathered at Banani Cemetery. Floral wreaths were laid at the grave of Koko on behalf of various branches, including Dhaka Metropolitan. Koko was born on August 12, 1969.

The BNP Secretary-General praised Arafat Rahman Koko's role in the sports sector. He said, "We all know that Koko was killed through torture and oppression. He had to leave the country due to the persecution of the 1/11 government. He died without treatment."

At 11 a.m., the BNP Secretary-General, along with other leaders, laid a wreath at Koko's grave. Among those present were Amanullah Aman, Abdus Salam, Farhad Halim, Sultan Salauddin, Shamimur Rahman, Rafiqul Shikder, S.M. Jahangir, Nurul Islam from Jubo Dal, Saiful Islam from Dhaka Metropolitan BNP, Rafiqul Alam, Aminul Haque, Tanvir Ahmed, and others.
